DIY iPad-Powered Kegbot Tracks Who's Drinking What and How Much The engineering team at local search site Yelp enjoy an occasional brewed beverage, and at a recent Hackathon, decided to put smoosh together their love for technology and a good beer. The outcome: The iPad-powered Kegbot in the video above.

kegbot-ipad.pngIt’s a great project to marvel at, but the crew was also kind enough to write up an overview of how they did it (building on the open source Kegbot project) as well as open source all their code. You’ll need an Arduino micro-controller, a jailbroken iPad, and a few other bits and pieces (detailed in their post), so it’s probably not something you can put together when you get home tonight. That said, if you’re looking for a seriously cool weekend DIY and you have some of the parts on hand, you can’t go wrong with this one.
