Q. Is there another way to get a Pages document off my iPad besides e-mailing it? I don’t always have a Wi-Fi connection.
A. If you have the computer you use to sync the iPad nearby, you can sling the file onto the hard drive by way of iTunes. Tap the same button on the iPad to e-mail the selected Pages file, but tap the Export option instead. Choose the format you want to use for the transferred file (a Pages file, a PDF file or a Word .doc file).
Next connect the iPad to the computer. When the iPad icon shows up on the left side of the iTunes window, click on it and then click on the Apps tab in the middle of the window. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to the Apps list and click on Pages. On the right side of the window, you should see the name of the file you chose for Export on the iPad. Click on the file name in the list and then click on the Save To button.
In the box that pops up, navigate to the folder or place you want use and click on the Choose button to transfer the file to that location on the computer.
