ProSwitcher Comes to the iPad | iPad Blog – iPad news, Accessories And More

When iPhone OS 4.0 was announced (now know as iOS 4) iPad owners were disappointed to find out that they would not get the update until fall, 2010. The anticipated update will bring multitasking to the popular tablet.

If you can’t wait for multitasking on your iPad, you have probably jailbroken your iPad and installed Backgrounder. Backgrounder is an awesome solution to true multitasking on the iPad, one thing Apple’s version has that Backgrounder doesn’t, is a cool task switcher/manager. Apple’s solution to this is a cool dock that pops up from the bottom of your screen. It’ll interesting to see how this is implemented on the iPad.

Until then, a really great task switcher, that you can get for jailbroken iPad’s, in Cydia, is ProSwitcher. This has been available for the iPhone and iPod Touch for a while now, but we finally have an iPad version, on the way. It comes from Canadian developer, Ryan Petrich, and is currently available, as an alpha release.

If you want to try out ProSwitcher, and help the Developer work out some of the bugs, you will have to add a special repository to Cydia. Open Cydia, tap Manage, and tap Sources. Then tap Edit, then Add. Type this is the field:, then tap add source. You should then be able to find ProSwitcher 1.2 alpha 2.

Here’s some video, from iEvolution, showing ProSwitcher in action:
